Education Partnerships

We are committed to further improving the quality of education through partnerships with educational institutions.

Kyushu Dental University is partners with educational institutions in the region to train diverse individuals who can think objectively and lead the way in resolving a range of social issues. Through these partnerships, we are also making efforts to promote functional specialization based on each institution’s strengths in order to further improve educational quality.

Cooperative project to develop human resources that support the continuity of manufacturing skills and expertise through regional partnerships

In the industrial city of Kitakyushu, it has become difficult to pass down the city’s traditional manufacturing techniques and skills for a variety of reasons, including a decline in the working population. It is therefore important to make efforts to support the working elderly and take approaches to promote their good health.
As the region’s leading school, Kyushu Dental University has partnered with the University of Occupational and Environmental Health for their strong attributes in the medical field, Kyushu Institute of Technology for their expertise in engineering, technology, and biotechnology, and the University of Kitakyushu for their know-how in welfare and biotechnology. We are working together to supplement and expand learning opportunities by taking full advantage of the specializations and expertise of partners through the Education and Research Center for Cooperation with Universities in Kitakyushu. With these efforts, we aim to develop professionals with a broad vision who can provide support to the working elderly based on the specific needs of the Kitakyushu region.

Dentistry and engineering education partnership

Kyushu Dental University has signed an agreement with Kyushu Institute of Technology to establish a partnership graduate program for dentistry and engineering. We have also established the Dental Engineering Cooperative Education and Research Center at both universities. This is the first such initiative in the country.
We aim to produce the world’s top level results in the dental treatment research, as well as train distinguished professional engineers, researchers, and developers to work in dentistry-related industries.
Through these efforts, we plan to improve oral health and the quality of life of people.

Credit transfer agreement with four universities in the Kitakyushu area

On June 7, 2013, we signed a credit transfer agreement with the Kyushu Institute of Technology, The University of Kitakyushu, and the University of Occupational and Environmental Health, based on a cooperative project for developing human resources that support the continuity of manufacturing skills and expertise through regional partnerships that was chosen as one of the projects in the "2012 Program for Promoting Inter-University Collaborative Education” of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
With this agreement, the four universities will be accepting students from each partner university from April 1, 2014.
Through this agreement, the four universities will be working together to promote the development of professionals with an interdisciplinary perspective to respond to the needs of the region, by taking full advantage of each university’s strengths and expertise when supplementing, expanding, and enhancing the contents of study.
